Founded over twenty years ago,  Westport Writers’ Workshop offers workshops for every level of writer across every genre.  Our talented instructors all have an MFA in Writing and/or published works and take great pride in fostering each individual’s personal creativity.  Westport Writers’ Workshop provides guidance and mentorship to writers across the full spectrum of experience, from  novices writing for the first time to the writer with a finished, ready-to-submit manuscript.  Our passion is helping students achieve their writing goals, whether that means refining their craft, publishing their work, or continuing their education with admittance to an MFA program. Our programming is crafted to offer supportive writing workshops, coaching, and mentorship to encourage, inspire, and spark the imagination. We pride ourselves on being not only a source of knowledge for our students but also a source of creative community and camaraderie. 

Our workshops are designed to suit your schedule, with options in the morning, afternoons, and evenings. In addition to our seasonal workshops, we host several specialized one-time workshops and intensive programs throughout the year for writers with more restrictive availability. You can regularly join us for literary readings and workshops from industry experts and published novelists. In addition to our workshops and regular events, we sponsor the annual Westport Writers’ Pitch and Publish Conference, giving writers the opportunity to connect directly with industry agents and editors.
